Jekka's Herbetum ~ 16th June 2021

A fascinating tour this evening around Jekka's Herbetum with Thornbury Tangent - who knew that there are so many different herbs!  Covid restrictions are still in place, so numbers were limited, masks were worn in the building and hands were sanitised,  but it was so good to have another evening out together.

Hannah started our tour explaining what the different herbs were and their uses.

We tasted some and smelt others.

Jekka took over for the second part of our tour and her enthusiasm for her work was very clear to see.

After a slice of cake and a drink it was time to get down to business.  It might have been fourteen months late, but Katharine made sure that Anne finally got to wear the Chairman's chain.....

..... and they even had a Boris style bumping of elbows.

Anne presented Katharine with her Past Chairman's brooch.

Anne had the chain long enough, so two months late, it was handed over to Tracey.....

..... along with the Past Chairmen's bars to sew on!

Tracey badged up Michelle, socially distanced of course, as our newest member.

Claire received her Honorary Members badge from Tracey.
